Buffett's Apple Bet Keeps Paying Off as Foldable iPhone Looms
Warren Buffett's investment in Apple continues to pay off, making it his largest holding at Berkshire Hathaway. In 2016, Buffett first bought Apple shares, and since then, the stock has grown into a significant portion of Berkshire's equity portfolio.
The nearly $35 billion investment made between 2016 and 2018 surged to around $185 billion before tax, including dividends and gains, according to Business Insider. Buffett was quoted as saying he didn't have to do anything but still made a massive profit.
Despite selling a significant chunk of Berkshire's Apple holding, it remains the company's largest position. Buffett has expressed regret over selling too soon and would buy more of it if possible, though not at the current market price.
