Burry Warns AI Boom May End in Overcapacity and 'Future Ghost Towns'
Nvidia and other companies in the AI sector may be facing an uncertain future, warns Michael Burry. The investor, known for his role in the film 'The Big Short', believes that today's artificial intelligence boom could eventually lead to overcapacity, creating 'future ghost towns'.
Burry pointed out that despite strong long-term customer commitments from companies across the AI ecosystem, there is a risk of oversupply. He noted that current shortages may become tomorrow's oversupply, suggesting that prices and demand could plummet in the future.
Nvidia's stock price has been rising, closing 3.43% higher on Wednesday at $219.22 and gaining another 3.30% in early pre-market hours on Thursday. However, Burry's warning serves as a cautionary note for investors, highlighting the potential risks associated with investing in AI companies.
