Bus Collision Strands 188 TUI Fly Passengers in Varna
A passenger bus collided with a TUI fly Belgium Boeing 737 MAX 8 in Varna, Bulgaria, leaving around 188 passengers stranded.
The aircraft, registered OO-TMT, had arrived safely from Brussels and was preparing for the return flight to Belgium as TB2861. However, while passengers were being prepared, a passenger bus struck the aircraft's wing, causing damage that prevented it from operating the scheduled flight back to Belgium.
TUI fly spokesperson Piet Demeyere was unable to provide many details about the aircraft's damage or the investigation into the incident. The airline has accommodated passengers in hotels while working on arrangements to bring them home.
