California Teachers Retirement System Bets Big on Walmart
The California State Teachers Retirement System has significantly increased its holdings in Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ: WMT) by purchasing an additional 748,911,635 shares during the second quarter.
According to a recent 13F filing with the SEC, the institutional investor now owns 755,604,916 shares of the retailer's stock, representing approximately 9.49% of Walmart's total value of $85,579,813,000 at the end of the most recent reporting period.
Walmart's latest earnings results showed a beat on analyst expectations, with the company reporting $0.81 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.74.
The retailer's quarterly revenue was up 5.9% year-over-year, and it has set its Q3 2027 guidance at 0.620-0.640 EPS and its FY 2027 guidance at 2.800-2.870 EPS.
