CalPERS Allocates $12.7B in Q1, Led by Private Equity and Credit Strategies
The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) has allocated $12.7 billion in the first quarter of this year, with a majority going to private equity and credit strategies.
The pension giant directed $9.4 billion across private equity primary funds, co-investments, and venture capital offerings.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management led the way at the manager level, collecting $2 billion across its West Street credit fund series, with half of that going to West Street Strategic Solutions II LP, a special-situations fund.
