Canada Keeps Processing Times Unchanged for Indian Study and Work Permit Applicants
Canada has maintained its processing times for study and work permit applications from India, providing some stability for Indian students and workers planning to move to the country. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), study permit applications from India continue to be processed in an estimated five weeks, unchanged from July 22.
Work permit applicants also remain unaffected, with a processing time of nine weeks. In contrast, visitor visa and super visa applications from India are now taking slightly longer to process, increasing to 22 days for visitor visas and 52 days for super visas.
The IRCC updates temporary residence processing estimates every week to indicate how long newly submitted applications may take under current workloads. This is an estimate rather than a guarantee and can differ from the department's service standards depending on application volumes, case complexity, and operational capacity.
