Canada Trade War Escalation Threatens Toilet Paper Price Hike

A trade war between the United States and Canada has escalated, threatening to increase toilet paper costs for Americans.

The Canadian government announced a new set of tariffs, which will take effect on September 8, targeting U.S. goods including steel, aluminum, clothing, furniture, video game consoles, electronics, and paper products.

Canada is the largest exporter of toilet paper to the United States, accounting for $328 million in imports last year, according to the World Bank.

Procter & Gamble's Charmin, a popular brand, will likely be affected by these tariffs, as it uses Canadian lumber in its manufacturing process.
