Canada Visa Processing Delays Hit Indians Hard
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated its processing times for various visa categories. For Indian applicants, work permit applications are estimated to take nine weeks, while study permits take five weeks. The Super Visa, meant for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents, remains at a 56-day processing time.
The processing time for visitor visas has increased by one day to 31 days, affecting Indian applicants more than those from the US and the Philippines. While Indians face a longer wait for work permits, their Super Visa processing time is substantially shorter compared to both countries.
IRCC cautions that its processing times are estimates and not guarantees. The actual time taken can depend on various factors, including application complexity, pending applications, available resources, and additional document requests.
