Canadian Firm Helps Enterprises Plan for Quantum-Safe Cryptography
A Canadian cybersecurity company is tackling one of the most challenging aspects of preparing for quantum computers: planning. While governments and major tech companies like CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Microsoft aim to be quantum-safe by the end of the decade, many organizations struggle with where to begin a full cryptographic migration.
According to commentary released, the challenge facing large organizations is not the encryption itself but rather the complex logistical undertaking of planning a complete cryptographic migration. This involves assessing the impact on applications, devices, and critical services, which can be a daunting task that requires significant budget and careful sequencing.
A new tool called QSim has been launched by the Canadian cybersecurity company to address this planning gap. QSim models migration scenarios before any actual implementation begins, allowing organizations to assess feasibility, cost, and risk associated with different strategies.
