Canva Takes Aim at Microsoft and Google with Expanded Productivity Tools
Canva is taking on Microsoft and Google in the enterprise market by expanding its Visual Suite productivity tools, aiming to boost subscriptions. The company has pushed out 100 updates this year to its suite, including AI-generated presenter notes and new website navigation tools.
According to co-founder Cameron Adams, Canva wants 'as much work as possible' to happen within its platform. The design giant is making a push into Microsoft's and Google's turf with its Docs word processor and Sheets spreadsheet app usage rising 83% and 59% year-over-year among enterprise customers.
Canva has been working on designing its own AI models to control costs, which has led to delays in product rollouts. Despite this, the company is hoping corporate customers will boost its paying ratio, with 31 million of its 265 million users currently subscribed.
