The A. Clause Beer Distributor in Carbondale has reached a significant milestone - 75 years of serving customers in the beverage industry.

The journey began in 1945 when Albert Clause Sr., after his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, started working as a driver for the Coca-Cola Company in Pittston Twp. Three years later, he purchased a Ma's Soda truck and delivered soda to local businesses throughout the area.

In 1951, he opened A. Clause Beer Distributor along with his wife, Angela, on 8th Avenue in the city at the site of a former flower shop. The first beer order totaled $73.

The business moved to the Maselli Building and expanded its beer selections, then built the current building at 98 Brooklyn St. where it operates today.
