Carina Walker Named Head of YA Programming at Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios has appointed Carina Walker as its new head of YA programming. She will oversee a growing segment of Amazon's TV output, including Prime Video series such as Sterling Point, Off Campus, and the upcoming Boys of Tommen. This appointment comes after a reorganization of Friedlander's executive team in July.

Friedlander, head of global TV for Amazon MGM, praised Walker's skills and experience. 'Carina has a collective 9.5 years at Amazon where she’s worked across drama, international and most recently developed a deep understanding of the YA space,' he wrote. He added that her talent relationships and creative instincts can be seen in shows like Off Campus, Every Year After, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

This appointment completes a group of genre-based teams at Amazon MGM, which also includes Kara Smith (drama), Blair Fetter (worldbuilding/sci-fi/fantasy), Jenn Levy (unscripted), Melissa Wolfe (animation), Andy Weil (comedy), and now Carina Walker (YA programming).
