CarPlay Bolstered by Microsoft Copilot as Gemini Holds Out
Apple's CarPlay system now supports six major AI chatbot apps, including Microsoft Copilot. This addition leaves Google Gemini as the only notable holdout in the space.
Copilot joins a list of other popular AI apps that support CarPlay, such as Siri AI, OpenAI's ChatGPT, Perplexity, SpaceXAI's Grok, Meta AI, and Anthropic's Claude.
Making use of CarPlay requires iOS 26.4 or later, and users will need a subscription to access Copilot's features on their iPhone.
Starting Monday, iOS 27 will be officially released, bringing with it a dedicated Siri AI app for CarPlay. This new feature is still in beta and will be rolled out in waves.
