Carroll County Residents Split Between Google and AI for Local Search Needs
A recent study by CraigAds found that consumers in Carroll County, Georgia are using both Google and AI for their local search needs. The survey, conducted in July 2026 with a sample size of 62 people, revealed that while some industries relied heavily on AI to think through decisions, others still preferred Google Maps for immediate problem-solving.
The study discovered that the more complex or time-sensitive a decision is, the more likely consumers are to use AI. For example, beauty-related searches were dominated by AI (24.2%), as they require comparison and differentiation of products and providers. On the other hand, plumbing emergencies saw a much lower percentage of AI searches (6.5%) as consumers seek quick solutions using Google Maps.
The study also highlighted that business owners in Carroll County are adopting AI at a faster rate than their customers. CraigAds found that local businesses use AI for inventory management, scheduling, and marketing, while their customers still prefer a more casual approach to AI usage.
