CAT Posts Record Backlog, Eyes Mid-Twenties Revenue Growth
Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) ended its second quarter of 2026 with a record backlog of $72 billion, an impressive 92% increase from last year.
This significant milestone reflects broad-based demand strength across all three segments, with around 59% of the backlog expected to be delivered within the next 12 months. This level of consistency in demand has been maintained over the past three quarters.
The company's strong order book supports its improved 2026 outlook, which now anticipates mid-to-high teens growth in sales and revenues from 2025, up from previous expectations of low-double-digit growth.
