Caterpillar (CAT), a leading construction equipment company, is set to report its Q2 earnings on Tuesday morning. The market expects the company's revenue to grow by 14.4% year over year, following a flat revenue in the same quarter last year.

Last quarter, Caterpillar beat analysts' revenue expectations with revenues of $17.42 billion, up 22.2% year on year. This was a notable improvement from previous quarters where the company had missed Wall Street's estimates multiple times.

The heavy machinery segment has been underperforming lately, with share prices down an average of 5% over the last month. Caterpillar itself is down 16.2% during this period and trades at $814.21, compared to an average analyst price target of $958.83.
