Caterpillar Invests in Illinois Workforce Development
Caterpillar Inc., one of the world's leading heavy machinery manufacturers, has announced a new investment in its five-year, $100 million workforce development initiative. Dubbed 'Building the Future Workforce Initiative,' this latest allocation is aimed at preparing workers across Illinois for modern manufacturing and industry technician jobs.
The company will commit up to $10 million towards this effort, which will focus on strengthening collaboration between training institutions and employers, implementing outreach programs to build understanding of modern manufacturing among students, parents, and educators, exploring innovative training models, and sharing best practices with the wider industry.
Caterpillar's Chief Human Resources Officer, Christy Pambianchi, emphasized the company's commitment to building a strong and skilled workforce in Illinois. 'Caterpillar's roots run deep in Illinois, and so does our commitment to building a strong and skilled workforce,' she said.
