Caterpillar Smashes Quarterly Sales Records with 24% Growth
Caterpillar Inc., a leading manufacturer of heavy machinery and equipment, has reported record-breaking sales and revenue for the second quarter of 2026. The company's quarterly earnings conference call revealed that Caterpillar saw a significant increase in sales volume, which contributed to its first-ever quarter with over $20 billion in sales and revenues. This milestone marks a 24% growth from last year's second quarter, when the company generated over $16 billion.
The strong order rates and growing backlog reflect broadening momentum across all three of Caterpillar's primary segments: construction, power and energy, and resource industries. The largest category of sales revenue came from the construction industry, which brought in $8.3 billion, an increase of $2.1 billion from last year.
Caterpillar's Chairman and CEO Joe Creed attributed the company's success to its customers' essential work and the dedication of Caterpillar employees worldwide. The report also highlighted favorable price realization, which added $595 million to the company's sales revenue.
