Caterpillar Unveils D11 XE Electric Drive Dozer for Mining Industry
Caterpillar has unveiled its latest electric drive dozer, the D11 XE, designed specifically for the mining industry. The new machine promises greater production and lower fuel consumption than its diesel-powered counterpart, with up to 25% less fuel consumed per unit of material moved.
The D11 XE boasts a 60% reduction in moving parts compared to traditional mechanical drive systems, making it simpler to service and reducing owning and operating costs over time. Its Cat C32B engine provides diesel assistance at a lower high-idle speed, helping the machine deliver up to 20% longer life between rebuilds.
The D11 XE features upgrades throughout its powertrain and major systems, including a dedicated drive motor at each track that simplifies operation and enables smoother maneuvering. The suspended undercarriage absorbs impact and reduces shock load transfer by up to 50%, creating a more comfortable ride for operators.
