Charter's Amazon Prime Deal Sends Stock Sliding Amid Expansion Plans
Charter Communications' stock slipped by 0.61% on Wednesday following an announcement about a partnership with Amazon. The deal brings Prime membership to select Spectrum customers, with existing and new customers qualifying for Spectrum Internet Assist receiving free Prime access.
Spectrum Internet Assist is a low-cost internet option that provides speeds up to 50 Mbps, available to low-income households through the Spectrum website. Eligible customers can apply for this benefit, which includes Amazon Prime benefits such as fast shipping, streaming services, and music access.
Investors will note that Charter Communications became the largest internet provider in the US after its acquisition of Cox Communications for $34.5 billion, closing on August 20, 2026.
