The company emphasized the critical role of the media in promoting transparency and informed public discourse in the oil and gas sector, stating that Chevron 'deeply appreciates the role of the media as a trusted source of information and an important partner in promoting transparency, accountability, and informed dialogue.'

Chevron's General Manager of Corporate Affairs emphasized that the company sees Nigeria and Africa as core growth markets with its investments in gas, deepwater oil, and integrated infrastructure.

The company has spent over $1 billion annually on Nigerian suppliers and is working to register Host Community Development Trusts (HCDTs) under the Petroleum Industry Act.
