Chevron Commits $7B to Revitalize Venezuela's Oil Industry
Chevron plans to invest over $7 billion in Venezuela's oil industry over the next five years, more than doubling its current production levels.
The move is part of a broader effort by the US government to increase American investment in Venezuela's massive oil reserves, which stand at over 303 billion barrels.
Chevron will expand its operations in the Orinoco Belt and has received additional acreage, including rights to develop the Carabobo 1 and Carabobo-2-South-A areas.
