Chevron Discovers Major Oil and Gas Condensate Reserve Offshore Angola
Chevron's exploration efforts in Angola have yielded another significant discovery, this time off the coast of Block 0. The Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC), Chevron's subsidiary, confirmed an oil and gas condensate discovery at the 105-4X well.
The primary Pinda reservoir encountered an oil and gas condensate column exceeding 600 meters in depth, with over 90 meters of net pay found in high-quality reservoir rock. This promising find will be assessed for potential development as a tie-back to Chevron's nearby existing facilities.
Chevron Vice President of Exploration Kevin McLachlan stated that this discovery represents another milestone in the company's 70-year history in Angola, demonstrating its strategy's effectiveness and confidence in the region's resource potential.
