Chevron Dividend Remains Unscathed Despite Crude Oil Price Slump
Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) has managed to pay its shareholders despite crude oil prices softening sharply.
The decline in oil prices was triggered by reports of progress in US-Iran peace talks, which eased concerns about geopolitical friction disrupting the flow of barrels to global markets.
Chevron's diversified integrated model helps cushion the impact of weak crude prices. By spanning upstream production, downstream refining, and chemicals, the company can partly offset weakness in oil values with margins earned from refining and chemicals.
