Chevron Executive Joins NESG Board
The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) has appointed Jim Swartz as a Director on its Board. Swartz is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa, based in Lagos. He oversees asset strategy and performance, operational execution, stakeholder engagement, government relations, and operational excellence across the region.
Swartz brings over 36 years of experience with Chevron to the role, having held various technical, operational, and executive leadership positions across Africa and the United States. His background spans upstream operations, asset development, capital projects, commercial strategy, and organizational leadership.
The NESG stated that Swartz's appointment will add substantial expertise in executive leadership, upstream and midstream operations, stakeholder engagement, commercial strategy, asset development, and joint-venture governance to the Board. His experience leading energy operations across Nigeria and Mid-Africa is expected to enrich policy discussions on energy, investment, infrastructure, productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth.
According to Dr. Tayo Aduloju, Chief Executive Officer of the NESG, Swartz's international and regional track record will bolster the Group's commitment to evidence-based policy advocacy and economic reform.
