Chevron Expands in Venezuela Amid Trump Deal on Oil Reserves
Oil giant Chevron is expanding its operations in Venezuela, just days after President Donald Trump announced an ambitious deal to develop the nation's oil reserves and give the Pentagon a stake in the profits. The move comes as Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney urged the US to become serious about trade negotiations with Canada.
A Gallup poll found that 9 in 10 Americans believe there is widespread corruption in the US government, up 10 percentage points from last year.
Meanwhile, Trump plans to speak on both nights of the Republican midterm convention in Texas next week. The president's keynote address had previously been announced for Thursday but will now happen Wednesday night.
