Oil giant Chevron is expanding its operations in Venezuela as part of President Donald Trump's deal to develop the nation's oil reserves. The deal, which was announced earlier this week, will give the Pentagon a stake in the profits.

Chevron confirmed that it would expand its operations in Venezuela, just days after Trump's announcement. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney pushed back against U.S.-Canada trade talks, saying they could resume if Washington becomes serious about negotiations.

A Gallup poll released Wednesday found that a record percentage of Americans - 89% - believe there is widespread corruption in the U.S. government.
