Chevron Expands Operations in Venezuela with $7 Billion Investment
Oil giant Chevron has confirmed plans to expand its operations in Venezuela, following an announcement by President Donald Trump regarding a deal to develop the nation's oil reserves. The company stated that it has been assigned additional acreage in the Orinoco Belt, where it already has a presence.
Chevron's joint venture plans include investing over $7 billion over the next five years, which is expected to more than double production to approximately 600,000 barrels per day by 2026. This significant increase in production will be made possible through Chevron's investment and partnership with other companies in Venezuela.
The expansion of Chevron's operations in Venezuela comes at a time when the nation's oil reserves are being developed as part of an ambitious deal between President Trump and the Venezuelan government. The Pentagon is set to receive a stake in the profits from this deal, which aims to unlock the vast potential of Venezuela's oil resources.
