Chevron Handed Bangladesh Gas Sector Investment Brief

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with a high-level Chevron delegation on Sunday to discuss increased investment in Bangladesh's gas sector.

The prime minister urged Chevron, a US energy giant, to step up investment in exploring new gas fields and upgrading existing ones to bolster Bangladesh's energy security and meet rising demand.

The meeting was attended by Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, the prime minister's adviser on finance and planning; Aninda Islam Amit, state minister for power and energy; and Shu Xiong, president and managing director of Chevron Bangladesh, alongside other senior officials.
