Chevron Leads Gas Contribution in Nigeria, Vows Zero Flaring
Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has emerged as the highest contributor of gas among international oil and gas companies operating in Nigeria, according to Dr. Victor Anyaegbudike, Manager and Chief Communications Officer for Chevron's Nigeria and Mid-Africa region.
Dr. Anyaegbudike stated that CNL is working hard to increase production through significant investments in onshore, deep onshore, and offshore platforms. The company has also reduced gas flaring to 98% with a commitment to reach zero percent.
CNL has been the highest supporter of local content development in Nigeria, investing over $10 billion in Nigeria's content advancement. The company used its GMoU module for the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which has helped reduce challenges in host communities across the Niger Delta.
