Chevron Nears Venezuela Oil Deal Talks Amid Share Price Uptick
Chevron's shares rose 0.5% after reports emerged of potential deals to invest billions in Venezuelan oil fields.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Chevron is close to a deal to expand its operations in Venezuela, which could add two new heavy-oil fields to its portfolio.
Currently, Chevron operates three joint ventures with PdVSA and is the only major U.S. company active in Venezuela.
