Chevron, NUJ Delta Partner on Oil, Gas Reporting Capacity Building

A one-day workshop was held in Asaba to strengthen journalists' skills and ethical standards in reporting the oil and gas industry. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, partnered with Chevron Nigeria Limited for the event.

The workshop had the theme 'Enhancing Professional Skills and Ethical Standards in Oil and Gas Journalism.' Chevron's General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr Olusoga Oduselu, was represented by Dr Victor Anyaegbudike, who said the company has been committed to building journalists' capacity in specialised oil and gas reporting for 12 years.

Anyaegbudike described the oil and gas sector as highly technical and sensitive. He noted that accurate and responsible reporting is critical to shaping public understanding of the industry, adding that Chevron had trained more than 450 journalists over the years.
