Chevron, NUJ Delta Team Up for Oil, Gas Reporting Workshop
Chevron Nigeria Limited and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Delta State Council are joining forces to train 55 journalists on oil and gas reporting. The one-day workshop, titled 'Enhancing Professional Skills and Ethical Standards in Oil and Gas Journalism,' will take place at the NUJ Press Centre in Asaba on August 24.
The training aims to deepen journalists' understanding of the oil and gas industry and promote accuracy, balance, and responsible reporting. According to Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman of the NUJ Delta State Council, 'This workshop is a timely and strategic intervention to deepen our understanding of the oil and gas industry and strengthen our capacity as journalists.'
Oyowe commended Chevron Nigeria Limited for supporting professional development and capacity building among journalists, describing the partnership as a significant contribution to the advancement of journalism practice in Delta State. The training will feature sessions on key aspects of oil and gas reporting, including professional competence, ethical journalism, accuracy, balanced reporting, and responsible coverage of the industry.
