Chevron Shooting Adds to Growing Concerns Over Crime in Metairie
A shooting occurred Thursday afternoon at a Chevron gas station in Metairie, leaving one person wounded but not life-threateningly. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and is investigating the incident.
The victim was shot outside the Chevron on Clearview Parkway near Veterans Memorial Boulevard, an area that has seen its share of violence in recent days. In September 2021, a dispute over cutting in line for gas led to a fatal shooting at the same station, resulting in the death of Dwayne Nosacka.
The latest incident is part of a string of violent incidents along this stretch of Metairie, including a road-rage shooting that left a female motorist in critical condition just over a week ago. Authorities have not identified a suspect or motive for Thursday's shooting.
