Chevron Strikes Oil and Gas in Angola's Block 0
Chevron has made an oil and gas condensate discovery in Block 0 offshore Angola, encountering more than 300 ft of net pay.
The company drilled the 105-4X exploration well in the Lower Congo basin, which encountered an oil and gas condensate column exceeding 2,000 ft in the primary Pinda reservoir.
Chevron will assess the discovery for potential development as a tie-back to nearby existing infrastructure, providing a potentially capital-efficient route to production.
The company's Vice President of Exploration, Kevin McLachlan, said: 'This discovery is another important milestone for Chevron's over 70-year history in Angola.'
Chevron has expanded its exploration program across Sub-Saharan Africa, with ongoing activity in Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea.
