Chevron Strikes Oil in Offshore Angola Discovery
Chevron has made a significant new oil and gas condensate discovery offshore Angola in Block 0, located in the prolific Lower Congo Basin.
The discovery was made at the 105-4X exploration well, which encountered a hydrocarbon column exceeding 600 metres, including more than 90 metres of net pay.
Chevron operates the asset through its subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Co. Ltd and will assess whether the discovery can be tied back to nearby existing infrastructure.
The find builds on recent operational momentum for Chevron in Angola, with the company producing approximately 300,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day across Sub-Saharan Africa.
