Chevron Strikes Oil Offshore Angola in Block 0 Discovery
Chevron has made another significant oil and gas discovery offshore Angola in Block 0. The company encountered a 2,000-foot oil and gas condensate column with more than 300 feet of net pay in what it described as 'excellent' reservoir quality.
The discovery is considered solid, but not world-class, and adds another potential resource for Chevron's growth engine. The company holds a 39.2% operating interest in Block 0, which it co-owns with Sonangol (41%), TotalEnergies (10%), and Azule Energy (9.8%).
Chevron plans to assess the discovery's potential for development as a tieback to its existing nearby infrastructure, providing a capital-efficient path to production.
