Chevron Talks Up Investment Boost with Bangladesh Government
High-level discussions took place between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Chevron's senior officials on increasing investment in Bangladesh's existing gas fields, exploring new reserves, and boosting Chevron's presence in the country.
The meeting was attended by key officials from the government and Chevron, including Prime Minister's Adviser for Finance and Planning Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, and Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director Shu Xiong.
The talks centered on ways to increase investment in older gas fields, which could potentially yield significant returns for both parties. The discussion also covered the exploration of new gas reserves, a move that would likely require substantial capital expenditure.
