Chevron Teams Up with Bangladeshi Government on Gas Sector Investment
A high-level delegation from Chevron met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to discuss potential investment in Bangladesh's energy sector, particularly gas. The meeting was part of the government's efforts to strengthen domestic gas production and attract investment.
The Chevron team, led by President of Base Assets and Emerging Countries Javier La Rosa, discussed increasing their investment in existing and mature gas fields as well as exploring opportunities for new gas fields.
The discussions took place at the Prime Minister's Office at the Bangladesh Secretariat. Those present included Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance and Planning Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit, and Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director Shu Xiong.
