Chevron's Record Production Drives Sharp Profit Increase
Chevron's second-quarter earnings have seen a sharp increase due to record production and higher commodity prices.
The company reported sales and other operating revenues of $67.2 billion, up about 51% from $44.4 billion in the same period last year.
Diluted EPS increased to $6.11 from $1.45, while net income attributable to Chevron reached $12.1 billion, driven by higher commodity prices, acquired Hess volumes, and stronger refined-product margins.
Operating cash flow rose to $22.6 billion as production reached a company record of 4,070 MBOED, up 20% from the previous year.
Chevron's acquisition of Hess assets contributed significantly to the increase in worldwide production and supported growth in both U.S. and international upstream output.
