China's Visa Crackdown Blocks Indian Executives from Entering Country
China's new visa rules have made it increasingly difficult for Indian executives to enter the country, forcing companies like Realme and an Indian auto parts major to hold meetings in third countries or through video-conferencing.
The regulations, which came into effect on September 15, introduce enhanced compliance requirements, stronger enforcement mechanisms, and greater accountability for applicants, sponsors, and immigration intermediaries.
According to senior officials at several affected companies, the visa rejection rates have gone up to 95%, with even Indian executives of Chinese companies facing difficulties in securing visas.
A leading contract electronics manufacturer reported that re-applications are not being cleared, and the company has moved some meetings to Singapore or Hong Kong due to the difficulties in obtaining Chinese business visas.
