Chipotle Expands Board with Veteran Restaurant Executive
Chipotle Mexican Grill has expanded its board of directors to 11 members by appointing Sabir Sami, a veteran executive with over 30 years in global consumer and restaurant businesses. As an independent director, Sami joins Chipotle's board without any special arrangements or related-party ties.
Sami previously served as CEO of KFC and held senior roles across Yum! Brands, Procter & Gamble, The Coca-Cola Co., and Reckitt Benckiser. His track record leading brands across international markets makes him a valuable addition to Chipotle's board.
Chairman Scott Maw highlighted Sami's experience as key to supporting Chipotle's ambitions to scale deliberately, strengthen operations, and expand global access to its brand. This move underscores Chipotle's emphasis on board refreshment and strategic oversight.
