Chipotle Taps Industry Veteran Sabir Sami for Board Seat
Chipotle Mexican Grill has appointed Sabir Sami to its board of directors. This addition is effective immediately, and brings over 30 years of experience in the global consumer and restaurant industry. Mr. Sami's most recent role was as chief executive officer of KFC from January 2022 to February 2025, where he had global responsibility for the brand's strategy and performance.
During his tenure at Yum! Brands, Mr. Sami held various leadership roles across all three of the company's brands, including serving as general manager of Yum! Canada and in general manager roles for KFC's Canada and Turkey businesses. Before joining Yum! Brands in 2009, he held leadership positions at Procter & Gamble, The Coca-Cola Co., and Reckitt Benckiser.
Mr. Sami brings a wealth of experience to Chipotle Mexican Grill's board of directors, and his appointment is expected to contribute to the company's continued growth and success.
