Chuwi Launches Budget Gaming Laptop with Dated Nvidia GPU

Chuwi has launched its latest budget gaming laptop, the GTBook X Laptop GamingBook. The device is equipped with an Intel Core i7-230H processor and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU from the Ampere era.

The combination of the relatively recent processor and dated GPU may seem unusual, but it's not without its limitations. The RTX 3050 Laptop GPU lacks some modern features like Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation (MFG), which are increasingly useful for low-end gaming laptops.

The GTBook X also boasts a 15.6-inch IPS display with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate. It comes with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD, with two SO-DIMM slots allowing the RAM to be expanded up to 64 GB.

The laptop is currently listed on Chuwi's US store for $999, which may not be particularly affordable considering the hardware. However, it's likely that this price will be as good as it gets for a while in the current market.
