CIBC World Market Doubles Down on Amgen Stake Amidst Bullish Sentiment
CIBC World Market Inc. has substantially increased its stake in Amgen Inc., one of the world's leading biotechnology companies. According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, CIBC World Market Inc. now owns $23.79 million worth of shares in Amgen.
The institutional investor acquired an additional 7,875 shares during the second quarter, representing a 13.6% increase in its stake in Amgen. This boost brings CIBC's total holdings to 65,685 shares, valued at $23.786 million as of its most recent SEC filing.
This is not the only significant development regarding Amgen's ownership structure. Several other institutional investors have also increased their stakes in the company over the past quarter. Brighton Jones LLC, for instance, grew its stake by 23.5%, while Sivia Capital Partners LLC and Schnieders Capital Management LLC both saw their positions rise by 10.6% and 29.3%, respectively.
Amgen's Q2 results were a key driver of the bullish sentiment among analysts and investors alike. The company exceeded earnings expectations, reporting $6.29 EPS for the quarter, which was significantly higher than the consensus estimate of $5.62. Revenue rose by 9.5% year-over-year to $10.05 billion.
