Cink Edges Jimenez in Playoff to Win Boeing Classic
Stewart Cink made up for last year's disappointment at the Boeing Classic by winning the tournament in a playoff on Sunday. The PGA Tour Champions golfer carded a 7-under-par 65 to finish 12-under 204 for the event, which was enough to hold off Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Cink had been four strokes behind going into the final round but made up ground with his strong performance on Sunday. The 53-year-old golfer birdied the first playoff hole to defeat Jimenez and win the tournament.
This is Cink's fifth win of the season, which leads the PGA Tour Champions, and his ninth win on the senior circuit in less than three years. He also strengthened his hold on the season-long Charles Schwab Cup points lead.
