Cink Edges Out Jimenez to Win Boeing Classic Playoff
Golf enthusiast Stewart Cink won the Boeing Classic on Sunday, edging out Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez in a playoff. Cink's impressive comeback included a 7-under 65 score, which brought his total to 12-under 204 for the event.
Jimenez had briefly taken the lead with an 8-under 28 on the back nine, but Cink remained close and eventually took the top spot after Jimenez placed his third shot in a greenside bunker on the par-5 18th hole. Cink capitalized on the opportunity to win with a close-range birdie putt.
This victory marks Cink's fifth win of the season, solidifying his position as the leader on the PGA Tour Champions. He also strengthened his hold on the season-long Charles Schwab Cup points lead.
