Cisco Abandons Bolt-In Security for Built-in Resilience

Cisco is shifting its security strategy towards 'built-in resilience', a approach that embeds security directly into the infrastructure where data and applications reside.

This move away from 'bolt-in security' comes as companies struggle to manage increasingly complex IT environments, with 84% of organizations saying that managing more than 10-point solutions slows down their ability to respond to and detect threats.

Cisco's CTO Sandeep Agarwal advocates for platformisation, which brings multiple capabilities together and reduces the number of consoles and tools security teams need to manage.
