Cisco Accused of Discriminating Against Muslim Employees Over Pro-Palestinian Views

The tech company Cisco has been found likely to have discriminated against its Muslim, Middle Eastern, and other employees by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

This is the first time a major company has been determined to have violated civil rights in connection with pro-Palestinian activity.

In 2024, 1700 employees signed an open letter urging Cisco to cut its ties to the Israeli government. A complaint filed that same year alleged harassing and Islamophobic messages spiked on the company's internal messaging platforms following the release of the letter.

The EEOC released its findings in June but it wasn't until now, when Politico Pro disclosed it, that the public became aware of the ruling.
