Cisco and Infleqtion Join Forces to Develop Quantum Networking
Cisco and Infleqtion have partnered to explore the possibilities of quantum networking. The collaboration aims to develop distributed networks that can link individual quantum devices together, a crucial step towards achieving broader applications of quantum computing.
The companies will focus on three key areas: developing network architectures for data transfer between quantum sensors and computational nodes, finding methods to convert quantum states in neutral-atom systems with optical channels, and coordinating quantum workloads across connected systems.
Cisco is working on an end-to-end quantum networking stack that can distribute quantum entanglement across devices. Infleqtion's technology combines quantum memory with multi-modal computing and sensing, using photons to carry information across networks.
